Urban Stories ATX Exhibition

Capstone Design Exhibition | “Urban Stories ATX”
UT Visual Arts Center | Spring 2019

The intent of Urban Stories ATX was to connect people to place through storytelling, encourage observation & awareness, & showcase forgotten elements & highlight “invisible interactions,” with the goal of creating a more appreciative society.

The lenticular wall combines two different graphics which gradually resolve as the viewer moves. It represents showcasing different perspectives and carries the connotation of “there’s more than one side to the story.”

The exhibit is to be read from left to right, as a timeline of the research & brand development runs along the center of the wall. The left side of the panels features a photo of Town Lake to immediately immerse the viewer in the setting. A graphic question stands on the right side of the panels, prompting people to ponder “how can we create a more appreciative society?”

Exhibition

Features a lenticular wall, map, & timeline.

Process

Thought progression, foam core mockups, building the panels, & testing legibility.
